PDFs That Work: Remediation Tools and Techniques

New to PDF remediation or looking for a quick refresher? This session will guide you through the essential steps to make existing PDFs accessible---perfect for scanned articles, legacy documents, and course materials.

The following topics will be covered:

• Analyze PDFs for accessibility issues.
• Use Acrobat Acrobat to tag and structure PDF content.
• Convert inaccessible PDFs into accessible formats.

Whether you're preparing materials for the upcoming semester or simply want to strengthen your accessibility PDF skills, this session is ideal for faculty, staff, and anyone working with digital documents. Join us and make your PDFs work for everyone!

The session will be facilitated by Ada Crutchfield, Instructional Design Specialist.

At least 5 registrations are needed for this session to proceed as scheduled. The session will be recorded if two or more people attend and the link will be distributed to everyone who registered.

JOINING THE SESSION

This webinar will take place in a Google Meet virtual conference room. Enter the webinar up to 10 minutes before the start time. Visit the myUMBC event post and select the "Join Online Event" button to join the Google Meet session.

1. For the best viewing experience, we recommend using Chrome, Brave, or Firefox, preferably the most recent updates to those browsers. Closing any unnecessary browser tabs will help conserve your bandwidth.
